Honeycomb tablets are dropping from the skies like honey from heaven, what with CES 2011 and all wrapping up over the weekend. Actually, like honey from a broken bees nest being ravaged by a berserker bear.
Sweet bears aside, Motorola’s new Xoom will run the Android Honeycomb 3.0 on a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2. With a 10.1-inch screen and 4G connectivity, 1280 x 800 resolution, and 5 megapixel camera capable of recording 720p, a little less than the tablet’s 1080p playback capability, this one will be highly prized and sought-after following its Q1 launch.
But wait a minute, 4G will only come as an update in Q2, making early adopters bitch and moan in anticipation. Other connectivity options are 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and EDR. With the battery capable of playing video for 10 hours straight, the 32GB of onboard storage will prove to be too little for movie buffs and other dangerously fringe social categories.
